From a young age, Greg Chinnis (DJ SLIM ROK) has had passion for music and the magic it creates. His feelings toward his craft have instilled in him a desire to bring new and unique approaches to the art of the DJ.
Greg was born in New York and moved to South Florida with his family when he was 4. Early on he was fascinated with disc jockeys and the music on "Oldies" radio stations. He was keen on following his idols, particularly Dick Clark of American Bandstand. Although he knew that he found his calling as a DJ, he preferred an environment where he could see others enjoy the music he would play. Observing the work of DJs at family parties led him to believe that this was the road to travel.
He began his journey by playing at community events and for friends. As he progressed, he became interested in working for some of the top entertainment groups in South Florida. Practice and persistence led to Greg becoming the youngest DJ at one of the largest companies in the country. It was here that he met his friend and future Rock With U partner Ross Bielejeski. Although his work was gratifying, Greg longed to re-invent concepts of entertainment and bring them to another dimension. Ross shared the same vision and they decided to come together to make it a reality. Ever since, Rock With U has fostered Greg's aspiration to bring a completely distinctive entertainment element to events.
Along with playing in South Florida’s most widely recognized venues, Greg has had the privilege of working with some of the most accomplished artists in music and has entertained numerous celebrities & athletes. He is also a remix contributor to the industry-famous Direct Music Service (www.directmusicservice.com) and has been featured as a guest DJ on the acclaimed Power 96 (96.5FM) in Miami. He can also be heard by thousands at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium as one of the official in-game DJs of the Miami Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes.
